Been a bit cold here in the desert for the last week or so (single digits over the last few nights). Naturally, she was plugged up, but at startup the last two mornings, I've noticed a pretty substantial "buzz"... which must be pretty loud if I can hear it over all 24 of those valves AND that VP44. I had the hood up this morning, but couldn't track it down. It seems to go away after a few minutes at idle, but long after the oil pressure comes up.

Any ideas?

Thx!

Power Steering pump, maybe.

My power steering pump is loud when it is really cold out. Takes a couple of minutes to go away. Synthetic PS fluid takes care of the problem.

Try turning the steering wheel back and forth and see if the noise changes and or goes away quicker.

The sound that I hear is loud humming noise, like when a PS pump is low on fluid.

Just point in the possible right direction.

Hope this helps,

J-
