What are the best/ resonably priced bypass filter kits you've used?

Its not a question of the cheapest. Good and cheap rarely go together. I have used www.puradyn.com for the past 14 years on all my diesel equipment, dump trucks and CTD's. However on my 03 there is a shortage of areas to place the filter system. It has to be changed from the top (drop in filter element) and the only place I can find to make it work is under my new AFE intake system. I will have to fabricate a trap door on the bottom of the afe housing to get to top of bypass filter. Amsoil makes a spin on bypass filter setup and there are many locations to mount a spin on system as you can change filter from the bottom. I even asked a week ago for mountin suggestions on the 03/04's and a couple were posted-all were Amsoil filters.

I have one on my 96 mounted horizontally on the inside truck frame next to the NV4500. It's protected from road hazards and easy to change once per year.



It uses a spin on pressurized filter which can be mounted in any orientation. Using hydraulic hose and swivel barbed fittings, it only cost about 30 to plumb into the oil system. The return goes to the valve cover. Pressuirsed oil is picked up by a 3 way tee at the oil sending unit behind the power steering / vacuum pump.
