I just got a new diesel power magazine and they had these new oil bypass filter's advertised heavely has anone gotten one and tried it out it sounds like it might work. Also one other thing has any one tried any new ways of oiling the turbo using something other than engine oil like it's own pump and resevoir and different oil something that can with stand the temp and 10k rpm like a gst type oi,l i am sure it can be done with some type of pump that come's on with acc powerit would last longer with less wear on the bushings just asking i have 218 on my stock H1C and might try this when i have the new tubo in hand, Sounds kool

BY-Pass Oil Filters

I have used one now for 230K and am very happy with everything so far. These engines will go a million miles with good service and regular oil changes.

So I guess what I am after is reduced costs and overkill. I just like the idea of oil as clean at the end of the month as at the beginning . I have oil analyzed once a month at about 10k miles and the readings are always good and the report says oil good for continued use. I change the bypass filter

once a month and the factory oil filter 4 times/year. Happy truckin- R C Oo.

I use the same one in the magazine the FS-2500. I am extremely happy with it, mounts on the framerail kind of hidden, easy installation and my oil is very clean, have not changed my oil for 10k now. If you call there ask for Chris he has alot of knowledge with these units.

I believe (DEPENDING ON MODEL) its around $500. 00 with everything to install, hoses and all, they dont hit you with a low price then get it all back on the install kit. And filters are $17

Would you guys be interested in a bypass filter system that is even better than the one advertized it Diesel Power? That system has a 4 micron filter. Our system has a 1 micron filter(average oil filter is 10+ microns). I have the oil anylasis to prove that infact the oil in our test vehicles is actually cleaner after 10,000 miles that it was the day it was put in. (Read: CLEANER THAN NEW OIL) Check out the US website and let me know if your interested. www.kleenoil.com click on kleenoil microfiltration. We have these oil systems on all of our big trucks(3 Kw's and 4 Macks) as well as all of our construction equipment(over 40 pieces of equipment) I wouldn't promote this product if I didn't believe in it as well as have it on over 10 million dollars worth of our own equipment.

I have run a lot of bypass filtration setups on construction equipment, large industrial sumps, over the road rigs, etc. , etc. Typically, a well designed system will serve you well. The user must be disciplined and take very regular oil analysis samples - one thing that these filters cannot correct for is a chemical deterioration of the oil. Although dirt and combustion by products are typical sources of stress on an oil and oil additive system they are not the only sources. Diesel fuel dilution or an anti-freeze / coolant leak will quickly destroy good oil - whether a bypass filter is installed or not. Both systems mentioned above are good systems and have demonstrated good results in the lab and in the field.

Check with the Southwest Research Institute and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers as possible sources of test data / evaluations / papers. Bypass filtration success is very case sensitive - it depends upon the lubricant used, engine type and condition, operating history and usage, etc. . . . etc. . . . . . PM or contact me if you have some direct questions.

500 bucks huh? How bout just changing your oil and filter regularly?? Then putting all that extra time and money you have on your hands on something else :-laf. .

Different strokes for different folks - some guys put their $$$ into injectors and other engine mods - while others focus on stuff hoping to increase their engine's lifespan...

Who's to say one guys personal preference is better than another's? ;) :D

I see it as a never ending thing to buy aftermarket mods for my truck... but dont tell my wife she thinks Im done!!!... ... ... ... . lol. . we all know here that you are never done.
