I have just bought a 06 quad cab long bed 3500 4x4 6speed. Which bypass filter is better OIL GUARD, AMSOIL, FS2500. I have looked at the material that was sent from Filtration Solutions, they seem to have the best unit. I am new to site, and would welcome any info from users of the units. If any one has pics of there install that would be great too.

Thanks

I have the Filtration Solutions unit, I really think it is the best out there after talking with guys running the Amsoil brand. Call filtration solutions worldwide and ask for Chris Williams or Randy Fields. Randy has an 06 megacab and would probably email you the pictures if you asked him to.

They are all better than none. After researching cost, ease of install and effectiveness, I chose the Oilguard. They are all excellent bypass systems!
They all filter out the most damaging particles (those 3-7 microns in size).
IMHO, the Oilguard system, seemed to me, to be the easiest to install.
It took about an hour, and the oil analysis reports show it to be VERY effective.
At 5000 miles, my samples have numbers close to those of new oil. At 10,000 miles, the numbers were still rock solid!

For those that don't do analysis, the amount of TBN (additive) and the viscocity numbers still are very strong at 10,000 miles. About half the additive is still in the sample, and the soot numbers are still amazingly low.

Bottom line, get yourself a bypass system! Anything that will help engine life, and reduce the $$$$ spent on oil changes is worth it IMHO!!
Cheers
Mike
