Bypass oil filter return line 2006 5.9

Any one installed bypass oil filter like the FS2500 and found a better place to hook return line on engine block? I do not want to return oil to oil fill cap. Looking for tapped plug already on block, found some plugs; but don't know if in crankcase. 2006, 2500 4x4, k&n air filter, straight thru big truck muffler.

The only thing to be sure of is make sure you don't put the hole in a place where the fitting will interfere with the valvetrain.

If you look under the turbo, you will find an oil drain tube. It connects to a fitting in the block. Look on the same side of the block & you will find what looks like a freeze plug. That can be pooped out and a fitting, from Cummins, can be installed for an oil bypass drain.



The fitting will have to be modified with a fitting that the drain hose from the bypass can be connected to.



There is a good thread, by one of our members, that created this fitting. He had great pictures & descriptions of how to do this. Do a search. It's worth it.

Here is a place you can return the oil too. All you do is "punch" a hole in the pan, then insert a self tapping hollow bolt, available from Amsoil Inc.
