Sorry for so many posts, been really thinking lately about some upgrades. Does anyone have that FS2500 system? Is it good? How much does it cost? Other options?? Im looking to get some kinda bypass just havent made up my mind yet??

You really can't go wrong with the Amsoil BMK11 kit. Its about half the price of the FS2500 and includes all the hose and fittings for install except the return. You have to decide if you want to make one or order the billet aluminum oil fill cap that is set up to be an oil return.

I installed the Amsoil BMK-11 on my truck. It was an easy install, like Diesel Nut says, it comes with all the hoses, fitting, etc - I got the billet cap for the return. I chose it because their filter is 98. 7% efficient 'absolute' at 2 microns. The others make the same/similar claims regarding filtration. The costs to purchase the Amsoil unit are about half of the others. They all do the same thing after that and are about the same cost to maintain, close enough anyway. I'm happy with mine, would do it again.

A bypass filter install on the CTD is easy as pie. You can source your pressure source from on top of the oil filter housing by removing one of the plugs and replacing it with a 1/8" NPT fitting and running it to the "In" port on a bypass filter. The "Out" port on the bypass filter can be returned via the the oil filler hole or you can punch your oil pan and use a self tapping hollow bolt (what I wound up doing).

Take a look at Bob is the Oil Guy and scroll down to the bypass filters section. You can read up on different systems out there and choose whichever one fits your needs and get 'er installed.

I have the FS2500, its around $450 if i remember right including hoses etc. Their shop is local for me which made me feel better but probably won't matter for squat. I doubt its any better than the amsoil bypass, both are 2 micron if i remember correct. installation is easy. Mine bolts onto the corner of the block just ahead of the air intake manifold with the in line coming from the oil filter and out returning to a hole drilled in the vavle cover (thats the hardest part). its very clean under the hood. I have a GPD fuel filter kit to add next which installs under air intake manifold and i think there is enough room... might have to move the FS2500 if not. Overall the FS2500 is ok, doubt its any better than the amsoil... if i had to do it over again i'd probably do the amsoil and save a little $

Nate.

You can go to http://www.amsoil.com/ and check out articles, kits, price list, etc. You can sign up with them as a preferred customer and also get a discount on the bypass system, and any future oil products or filers you might purchase. You will need the BMK-11 (or whichever system you purchase), the valve cover cap (if you choose to use it), and the EaBP-100 filter, to have all you need for a complete install. There is also a complete detailed set of installation instructions for you to peruse.

The Amsoil system is about the same price as the Oilguard system once you buy the billet return cap(that comes with the Oilguard kit. The amsoil replacement filters cost $10 more than the replacement Oilguard filters, and have the same change interval. Just some info I discovered in my pre-purchase research.

Frantz makes an excellent product as well. Lower initial cost and much lower cost for replacement elements. Service interval is much shorter, but much cheaper to maintain.
Cheers
Mike

I can get the billett cap from Amsoil correct? That is the single bypass correct? Ive heard of guys having trouble with the dual bypass on "rail-motored" trucks.
