I just installed an Oilguard bypass oil filter because I saw some pretty convincing info on the fact that most engine wear is caused by particles 4-7 microns in size. Since the normal factory filter is in the 30 micron particle range of filtration, there seems to be a need for a better filter. So many trucking and heavy equipment fleets put them on their rigs to extend oil change intervals, and extend engine life, that they must really work IMHO. I bought the Oilguard over the FS2500 and Amsoil systems for its' ease of install, and cost.
Anyone care to input on what kind of extended change intervals they have for oil. Anyone getting oil analysis that would care to share the results. Thanks
Mike

I've had the Oilguard for about 8000miles now. My Blackstone report is very good. If I knew how, I'd post a copy of it...

Now I have the Motorguard, which is similar to the Frantz in that it's a toilet paper filter, mounted post Oilguard. I don't think you can have any better setup than this, but, time will tell... .

I just did my install of the Amsoil BMK-11 the hardest part was mounting the mount on the firewall. The rest of the kit was a piece of cake to install. I have not had it on longe enought to take a sample yet since it had the oil changed at just under 15K and it only has 16K now. I use the 2 qt filter for the capcity and the filter is rated at 2 microns absolute.

Blackstone oil analysis cost $20 or $30 with TBN test. Oilguard testing is only 15 with TBN test and turnaround time is 1/2 the time.
