hey guys, i've got a 98 12valve and i want to install a switch to lock the converter, for two reasons. first, i want to install an exhaust brake( it's an auto so i know i have to install 60# springs too). second, i'm so sick and tired of the transmission slipping in and out of lockup. i've read all the posts, bought a new tps, reamed out the mounting holes to no avail. the only thing i can think to do is to put in a bypass switch for when i'm on the highway. my question is this- i know there is an old issue that describes how to do this but why can't i just run a wire from the tps feed (5 volts) to a switch on the dash and on the other side i would hook up a resistor to drop the voltage to 2 volts, let's say, and run that line back to the return line on the tps? i've taken readings on my tps going down the highway and the converter seems to come out of lockup at about 1. 69 volts. i would just be bypassing the tps by parallelling a resistor in line with it. would this work? any input would be appreciated. thanks rob
