I recently bought a cabover camper and my reception went south. I have a 4' Firestick mounted on the left fender. I would like to hear from people who have solved this problem.

I installed a antenna on the roof of the camper with a quick disconnect on the cable end to match up with the antenna mount on the truck, so when I put the camper on I would remove the truck antenna and hook the camper antenna lead to the truck antenna base.
Good Luck
John

Deezul has the right idea. The antenna MUST be above the top of the camper or the camper will kill all the signal. At least from the rear as you are set up.
I think you will find the radio will work much better with the antenna mounted up high also.

but then you've gotta watch your height.

Firestic has a hood mount that works great. If you are worried about your signal, get one for either side and use a dual antenna set up. they have a pretty good website.

I have a 4 footer for with the camper and a 2 footer without (fits in my garage)
