Competition P-pump question

Competition Found that Dana 80 spool I've been lookin' for

Just wanted to recognize a landmark achivement of one of our own Chris Hoofnaggle, who got his fat 4wheel drive quad cab into the 11s an 11. 8 at 113mph to be exact. I for one, know how hard this is, for it still eludes me. I shredded my flex plate trying. Congratulations Chris as far as I am concerned you are Top Dog in our neigborhood. My sights are set on you. Looking forward to doing battle with you.

Congratulations Chris. I am glad that your last minute tuning :-laf you were able to get it all figured out. Your definately the top dog around here... for now... Merv and I will be coming after you though. I am making some changes, reverting back to last years set up, to see if I can figure out why mine is so far off pace right now.

As for the race itself there was a decent turnout of both spectators and trucks, but from a DHRA perspective it was a flop. There were only the three of us, as far as I know, and we did not run as the DHRA we ran with everybody else. The track never asked us about the DHRA, and when I mentioned it to them, they said that they didn't know anything about it. I don't know how we will get the points figured out or anything either, as I am not really sure how that is supposed to work this year, anybody out there know? I do know that the Mid-Atlantic series is run a litte different than the other series are though.

Great job Chris!! And to think, I knew you when you were a 12. 90 @ 103 truck. :) Best of luck to your quest to the 10's. And on a side note, how cool is it the C-Hawk does all of his own work! Have time to look at my 01?

I just want the 12's.

Way to go! I know what a challenge that is. I don't keep track of people very well, so is there a profile (or pics? ) on this truck? Long bed? Front locker? Turbo setup? Dyno numbers? Was this a #2 only run? Even if it was on the juice, it's very impressive! Inquiring minds want to know! :D I'd match race this truck, as there aren't any other truly fast 4x4's in these parts... :-laf

What a shame. This is an all-too-familiar story. Maybe you guys should just enjoy whooping up on race cars instead of expecting much from a small diesel-specific organization. There doesn't seem to be much follow-through there...

It seems like deception is the only thing that organization has going for them… This is an all too familiar story as stated above. That’s why we decided to pull together w/ a very experienced race promoter and start the NHRDA…. :) :) :) Yeehaw, we're finally racing in a professional, world class organization. :)

is the truth starting to come out , congrate on you achevement , a 11 second big truck is fun I'm sure

Thanks everyone for all the support.

I need to thank John D and Don M for being so patient and helpful. They walked me through getting the truck running again after a head gasket failure. I’m not a very knowledgeable person when it comes to wrenching on these trucks, but with their help I was not only able to get my truck running again, but running better then I ever expected. They are not only my DTT transmission builder and injector, head work guy, but true friends as well.

As for Merv and Ted… :) Thanks to you guys for finally admitting I’ve got you whooped. Lol. Seriously though, ever since I got the truck three years ago I’ve been chasing you two at every event I’ve been to. It’s a strange thought to think you guys have some catching up to do for once. I’ll try to stay ahead… it’s going to be fun.

I agree with Ted about the DHRA (and the tech guys) dropping the ball at this event. It was very unorganized. My truck was in the 11’s all day and no one ever inspected anything, looked under the truck to see if I had driveshaft loops, looked to see if I had steel sticking out of the tires, nothing. That’s an accident waiting to happen with pickup trucks running well over 100mph like many of them are.

Yooper1 (mike), your truck will be in the 12’s easy when the work is done. It will be worth the wait. Hang in there.

Greg… thanks again for the help at Cecil. Man that same boot blew again at MIR on what would have been my best run. I lost it near the end, probably at 1150 or 1200ft, lifted off the throttle and coasted to an 11. 88 @ 107mph!!!! Oh well.

Rhonda, The truck is a quad cab short bed 4wd. It’s at full weight including both batteries, receiver hitch, all the seats, ½ tank of fuel, etc. The only things I took out/off were the spare tire and the tailgate. Other than the trans, the drivetrain is completely stock with an LSD in the rear, open up front. DTT transmission that’s awesome as can be. All the runs are on #2 only as the truck has never seen drugs. I may have missed something but this is the quickest e. t. I have seen for a diesel only 24valve. F1 power and DTT get it done.

Later,

Chris
