Done, to correct two previous statements. Out of state trucks must be weighed new or used, as opposed to all trucks. My trucked weighed in at 6560lbs as opposed to 6650lbs. Total fees were $360 all said and done with the DMV, twenty for the weight certificate. I went with the truck/commercial plates. Actually pretty easy, I was surprised that AAA wasnt much help. AAA has how ever paid for itself ten times over in my short driving carreer.

Thanks Guys

It's done. As Joe Biden says'' pay your taxes, its the patriotic thing to do. " Glad it's over. Arnold's happy too.

Just curious, I did pay for the commercial truck plates. States commercial on my registration paper. But what signifies this on the actual plate? There doesnt seem to be any difference than a car plate. looked at a couple car plates and they all started in different letters. My plate starts with "P".

Humm... mine starts with the numeral "8". You might swing by AAA and reassure yourelf that the DMV didn't screw up.

In Ca, there are 7 digits on all new plates. The order of digits whether it starts with a letter then a number etc indicates to a police officer what the plate is supposed to be on. Personalized plates don't apply here of course. It won't necessarily state commercial or non commercial.
