Is there a website to research available '06 CTD's for Ca vehicles or you need to go to the dealer? Anybody know?

You can only do one dealer at a time as a "civilian" the dealer can do searches by specific equiptment and distance.

I tried to get a non-CA as I live in NV and was told that all the trucks here had CA stickers so they could be sold in CA but that there was no material difference anyway. I know that back a few years w/ gas poppers there was a big difference in the way the vehicles ran and the fuel mileage they delivered. If there is a difference in timing, for example, does anyone know what that diffrence is?

I've been told that Ca vehicles are more rigorously tested. More spot checks. The vehicles are 50 state certified but Ca. needs more reassurance apparently.

When I pulled up into a Dodge Dealership in Utah, the mechanics wanted to check out my 05 CTD. About 30 minutes later. They said there wasn't anything different from the Non-California trucks and mine.

Why was I there???

My cousin, who after driving my truck for a few days, wanted his own Dodge CTD.

There is no difference between the trucks you buy here in CA and ones sold elsewhere...

In the 2004. 5 owners manual page 321 it states:



"CARB emission control vehicles are equipped with a sophisticated onboard diagnostic system called OBDIL".



This seems to suggest that non CARB trucks monitor the emissions in a different way. I have CARB because I lived in CA at the time that I bought it (in Idaho). Also when I inquired as to why I had such a long wait from purchase to delivery, I was told that every CARB truck had to have an emissions certification before leaving the factory, whereas non CARB trucks were spot checked.



So there does seem to be some subtle differences.

Nope, all 04. 5 and up trucks are not CA certified. They must have the CA legal sticker to be registered in CA as a new vehicle. Found out the hard way.

Yes, I have an 05 that I bought in Colorado. I had to register it in Arizona at my brothers address untill it had 10K miles, then CA considers it a used vehicle and it can be brought into CA without the CARB sticker.

try going to auttrader.com and used the advance search for new only. That will also let you pick motor, trans, 4x4 or 2x4 hope that helps

Carson City in Nevada has all Ca. compliant trucks and is suppossed to have largest inventory around [150 trucks] also bought my truck 500. 00 under invoice.
