I am planning on selling my heavy steel welders bed and replace it with a regular dually bed. My question is will the cab and chassis trucks take a regular bed? It seems the axle on my truck is narrower than a regular dually. Looking from the front of the truck, the front wheels split the two rear wheels. On other trucks I have seen, the front wheels are inline with the two inside wheels on the rear. Is it possible to place a regular bed on my truck without the inside tires rubbing the bed, or am I going to need to do some modifications(axle swap, or wheel spacers). Thanx in advance

To compare the measurements, go to http://www.dodge.com/en/chassis-cab/index.html and then click on full specifications... . A window in PDF format will open to show things but here is a few measurements... .

It is 71. 7 inches from the space between the rear duals

it is 69. 6" Inches center to center on the front tires

The frame is 34" wide

it is 60" from the rear of the cab to the center of the rear wheel

hope this helps

i have a cab and chassis in my truck but I am running just SRW and the wheels sit in about 1. 5 inches closer on each side. The SRW clears, but I doubt duals will clear with the fender liner in there. They might clear with the fender liner removed.
