Has anyone install a 52? gal fuel tank from a 4500/5500 in a pick up? I have a canopy and a tool box up front so no room there. Changing from a 35 gal to a 55 in the OEM spot just doesn't seem worth the extra expense just to gain 20 more gal.

Of course I would have to take out a small loan just to fill them both :)

All cab and chassis trucks, 3500, 4500, and 5500, have a standard 52 gallon tank mounted at the rear of the frame. The smaller 22 gallon midships tank is optional.

The C&C 52 gallon tank is unlikely to fit a pickup because the frame of a C&C is very different.

If a dealer near you sells C&C trucks and has one on the lot it should be easy to measure the dimensions of the fuel tank. C&Cs are delivered with bare frame rails easily accessed from the top for easy inspection and measurement.

Well I measured the tank on our 06 C&C we have at work and it is too long. It would hit my hitch. If the hitch wasn't there it would hit the bumper. I don't want to mount it too close to the diff. Time for plan B, either a van or Ramcharger tank. Shadrach

Ram didn't make a cab and chassis in '06. If you have an '06 with a bed mounted it started life as a pickup and had the bed removed. No similarities with a factory c&c built after '07. 5.

My bad - it is an "old style" an 09 I believe. It is a C&C with a rear tank. Too many trucks at work, 3/4 of them are C&C, most are new 5500's. Shadrach
