Cab & Chassis ?

Anyone know if dodge is offering a true chassis-cab(not a box-delete) in the traditional cab-axle lengths?

97 chassis-cab (good work truck)

2003 2500 (like it so far)

When I picked up my 2003 QC LWB SRW on July 29th,Art Chapman, Flt Mgr and part owner of Chaprell Chrysler Dodge in Ada, Oklahoma told me that Chrysler/Dodge was NOT producing a true cab-and/chassis. He said this had created great anger among dealers nationwide because Daimler/Chrysler's decision had cut into the dealers' truck sales very heavily; he said that because of U. S. dealer anger at the decision, Chrysler was going to resume production of cab-and-chassis units in 2004 or 2005, but none were available right now. His number is (800) 880-2427.

Hang in there til next spring. May be listed as an early MY2005, but the Ram 4000 chassis-cab is being listed as an April 2004 job-1 start date.

Thanks for the answers, it's good to hear of the planned start of production for the chassis-cab.



My next question is if anyone knows what a 4000 is? Is it something between a ton and a ton-and-a-half? Less GVWR than say a Ford F450, but more than a 3500? Any info is appreciated.



My "dream truck" has the brakes of the F450(for heavy towing) and the ride of the latest 3500. The new Dodge 2500/3500 trucks ride very well. The F450 rides too harshly for my liking.



My 97 3500 will tow anything I hook to it, but braking is the limiting factor. Otherwise the 97 has been great.

The real 1T C&Cs are 6" narrower in the rear. I'd like a bigger 5er and 1T but NOT a 'big butt' dually!
