I don't mind doing the work for the cab lights. If I do something, at least I know what went into or out of it. I'm picky that way.

I wouldn't mind doing that kind of work either, but to me, I'd have to have some kind of advantage when the work was done...even if there wasn't a new potential leak source. I'm really picky that way. ;)

Why, is there a danger of leakage?

Yes, but I don't know how prevalent it is, but I know it can be a problem.

As I alluded to, from my perspective, I would not want the risk, if there is no reward (to me, looking cool or "tough" is not reward enough). I'm quite practical, I never would have paid any extra for the fancy wheels that came on my 15, but they were already on it, and the truck had everything else I wanted, so I caved. Some people that know me well called me a hypocrite! :)

But everyone is different, it is worth it to some people to go through the effort/cash for aesthetics.

If you don't have cab lights you might as well be driving a Neon.......JMHO....It's a TRUCK for goodness' sake...:D;)

I wasn't looking for them. But it was impossible to find a g56 period. Wife said no to the DRW. (There was a DRW g56 in S Fl.) So I had to go 4 states away to buy what Kernersville had on the lot. But now that I have them (clearance lights), I notice the small cars give me more space. Seems like they don't want to become a grease spot on my oil pan.

My 04.5 didn't have cab lights. I bought the kit but never got around to installing it. My previous 2 Dodges had them. They never leaked and I don't recall ever having a bulb go out either.

The only talk I've heard of about leaky cab lights are the ones installed from the factory, and I read about that on forum "B".

Just a reminder that there have been a couple posts on installing the cab lights if you are thinking of doing that yourself. One man said the dealer he bought from installed them for $400. After doing mine, I would pay it. A lot of disassembly to drop the headliner and do this. Maybe DS offers that service???

I guess I am glad I ordered the cab clearance lights to be installed at the factory $68.00, on the build sheet.

If one is a fan of clearance lights, and one is ordering a new rig......that option and cost is entirely a no-brainer!!! :-laf
