Well, I've pretty much exhausted the search forum, looking for clearance lights for our 1st gen's. Nothing good from a search in this forum. In the Product forum those 2nd genners sure are installing cab clearance lights. I've found some different part numbers. My question is which one will work for our 1st gen truck? PN 82207252. 82205120 - seemed to be as 2nd genners describe as 'old style', a kit with template and wiring harness and 5 marker lamps. And new style 55077067AA - no harness or bulb is a PN for one individual marker lamp. Come on I'm really trying to force myself to park on the street and not in the garage, by installing cab markers I wont be able to fit in the garage no more. I'm already nipping the rubber on the bottom of the door. Thanks Bill

this is the # on the lenses I dident want to unscrew the housing

SAE P2PC 74 DTCC

I would also say that at any truck parts store you can get these even with the cool bullet lenses:cool:

if you realy want me to pull the housing off & look for a P# on it I will tomarrow

have a great night

cab markers

just for info. the 1-3-1 light combo is on dually's because this is DOT for vehicle over 80" wide, that's why you don't see them on 250's, just dually's and trailers that width or over.

From what I remember from my past trucks, there were two

different styles that were used on the pre 94's. I never found

a "template" from Dodge, just measured, several times, and

mounted. The one style is similar to "Truck-Lite" model #10764Y,

these were "higher" and I thought kind of "ugly". The most common one is like "Truck-Lite" #26765Y. Peterson, (PM) makes

the same style, #V118A, or a 5 light kit, #V118KA. I have mounted numerous sets of these lights on different trucks, its

not hard, just a little time consuming, don't want to drill a "wrong"

hole. The 5 light kit around here, Wisconsin, is about $20-25.

Hopefully this helps. Good luck.

I had a couple of clearance lights on my truck that were a little busted up, so I've already bought two replacements.

The Dodge part numbers are:

03738017 (plain gray)

03738018 (chrome)

The numbers that JStoll mentioned are also stamped into the bodies, but those aren't the Dodge part numbers.

I believe the above part numbers are only for the plastic housings--I don't think they include the lens or gasket. All I did was give one of the above part numbers to the dealer parts guy and tell him I also wanted lenses and gaskets, and he said "no problem. " Despite everything I've seen posted on the TDR, I've *NEVER* seen any aftermarket clearance lights that identical, or even compatible with the stock ones.

As usual, they were kinda pricey but since I was only replacing two of the five, I wanted them all to look the same. :D

You should be able to save some money on the gaskets by getting some sheet neoprene, 1/8" thick, and cutting your own. If I remember right, I paid about $8 per gasket, so if you're good with scissors, that would be an attractive option.

Well I called the morons at DC today and after about 15 minutes waiting for them they couldnt find a kit only an individual lense and light, no wiring harness, no instructions, gasket nothing, and for the asking price of about $70. 00 EACH! Ok no thanks DC.

Called NAPA, no kits only individual lights. Opened up my Whitney's catalog saw a variety for different models. Ordered the Dodge kit 5 lights/lenses, wiring harness, switch, and instructions for $29. S/H $11. Hopefully they look good. I have a roll of gasket maker material so if no gaskets are in the kit, I'll figure it out. Thanks alot BillOo.

update

Got my cab clearance lights from Whitney's and installed. Talk about a pain. High Five kit included 5 lenses bulbs gaskets screws wiring instructions- no template, switch with inline fuse and enough wiring to mount the switch next to headlight switch but not enough to run the power supply to the battery as I did with extra wiring I had. I'd rather not say how long it took me, ah probly about 5 hours hehe. . had to modify a few things but all in all the kit was good. They look real good too, at nights gives it the brute big rig stance/look, indicating get out of my way Im bigger than you. I probly installed them a little too far to the back, but they start right where my 'cardboard' headliner ends at the front. Any further up my drill holes and wiring would be showing from inside. I suggest giving them a try, I cant stop looking out the window at themOo. Bill

Clearance Lights

Hey Bill, Your timing on this topic could not have been better. Oo. I just priced out a complete set from DC Canada at just under $500. Would you perhaps have the part/kit order # and price from Whitneys so that I could also order a set next week. I have my new headliner coming in next week and really don't want to pull the headliner twice.

Thanks for the great $ savings tips. Bernie:)

Whitney part # AJG470394B Dodge HI-FIVE 5 pc OE style clearance light kit. $28. 99 + $11. 15 shipping/handling =? www.jcwtruck.com 1-800-865-4227. This was a big job IMO. The screws in the kit acted like they didnt want to go through the roof. But with a drill, drill bit set, silicon gun- i only used it around the drill holes, but i might take them off and silicon the entire gasket, this can be a piece of cake. Good luck. Bill

I wouldn't put them on if I were you. My 93 Dually has factory ones and every couple years I have to take them all off and silicone the screw holes and gaskets to keep water out. Dodges don't need more places for water to enter.
