Cab Configuration

I have been looking at new trucks and trying to figure out the difference between the Mega Cab and Quad Cab front seat configuration. I am interested in having the under the seat storage compartment that I found in the specific Quad cab truck I looked at. You know which one I am speaking of, the one where you could hide your wallet, CD collection or your personal sidearm.



Is that hidden storage compartment available in the Mega Cab configuration?

You mean the center under-seat console in the front? Yeah, its there on the MegaCab!

I think it depends on wether or not you get buckets or the split bench seat. I seem to remember that the buckets did not have the under seat storage (at least in the QC)

Mega cabs have it, but it's shallow due to the standard rear passenger vents that flow right under the storage bin. Since Quad Cabs don't have the rear vents , the Quad cab models used to be deeper 2003-2005 MY. It's like DC got cheep again or didn't want Quad Cabs to have something better than the Mega, and for 2006 put a shallow storage bin on both models.

Or are you talking about a drawer that goes under the seat that you can lock? I seem to remember seeing that as an option in my 06 flier?

I am not looking for the locking storage drawer. It is the OEM storage compartment found in the trucks.

Ok, I guess you mean the storage space that is in the center of the front seat, where you have to flip up the center console to get to it.

As was said above, if you get the split bench seat in a Mega, you get the same style storage as the Quad cab. The lower compartment is a little smaller.



I just traded in an 03 Quad Cab for an 06 Mega. Although the lower storage is a little smaller, there is a a lot more available storage in the Mega compared to the Quad Cab, and the Quad Cab isn't too bad.



You have storage bins behind the rear seats in the Mega and 2 bins that go the length of the rear seat on the floor behind the seats. You can also store stuff under the rear seat.
