Cab Fan not shutting off

I am having an intermittent problem with the fan not shutting off when the ignition is turned off. With the fan on I can shut the truck off & the fan will turn off, then I pull the key & the fan resumes on. Or turn the key off & the fan continues on. As I am writing do I have a key switch problem?

2003, 4X4, Laramie Package.

I think that perhaps the resistor is broken.

OK that's a start. Next question is where is this resistor located. Thanks for your input.

Refer to page 2 for the wiring diagram and assuming 03 hte same as 05.
I think you have ignition switch problem and selector switch problem.

Fan ran with selector switch OFF and Key OFF = ignition switch + selector switch problem at the same time

The resistor was on the blower housing underneath the dash, passenger side.

The resistor won't make the fan continue to run, the ign. switch could or the relay for the fan could also. bg
