Any recommendations on a cab filter kit for an '03?
I've seen the Geno's kit at $59 but wondering if anything else is out there or maybe a good homemade remedy.
I just cleaned out a bunch of pine needles and other junk that were stuck in the blower wheel. Only noticed it when blower was making noise when I turned it on.
Thanks all.
Mike

Just did my 2015 last week, filter and door was like $34 on Amazon.

Genos kit is the only one that i know about.
Have my self, is okay, but nowhere as good as the OEM that the Gen4 has, there are still a lot of holes that the dirt passes through.
But - better then nothing!!

Thanks for replying.
I'm going to pull the grill off at wiper area and see what's going on in there. I'm a HVAC guy so ought to be able to come up with something.
Snoking, 4th gen is on my wish list!

As I recall my 2006 has a wire screen where the air enters on the passenger side. I was thinking of just cutting a piece of foam but to get full coverage it would be an odd shape to get it right and seal.

So I took the grill off the '03 and it was packed with pine needles and other stuff. Cleaned it all out and found the main intake is on passenger side. Could put a filter/screen there or under the grill itself. Either way would have to take grill off to clean. Could also buy the Geno's part for $59. I'd like to filter the actual intake hole as CVR222NV spoke about. Seems the filter on top or under the grill could freeze if cold/wet and may not drain well. Anyone that has put the Geno's part on let me know how it does, especially in cold wet weather.
Snoking, thanks for the advice on 4th Gen's.. Would want a 4x4, longbed for sure.
Thanks, Mike.

No problems even packed with snow because there are enough not covered openings all over the place to let air in.

I have used the Genos kits that cover the air intake around the wipers for my 2000 thru 2017 trucks, even with the in cabin filter. We have a lot of pollen and fine powdery dust down our gravel road that both filters help. Havent done this on my 2017 Ram 5500 and 2019 Ram yet, but I usually clamp a drain hose on the AC drain to rinse the evaporator each season. Used to have pollen/dust collect, get damp, and get moldy. The rinse with warm water and Fabreeze poured into the inverted drain hose completely cleans it out with a fresh smell. Only want to use about a cup of the mixture.

Cheers, Ron
