Cab Light Install Question(s)

Need a little advice from some of you who have installed the DC cab light kit -

1) Will the lights seal OK w/o a sealer (silicone, marine Goop etc. )? Or should I put a light bead around them - doesn't say anything in the directions about a sealer.

2) Any other tips that I should know ? I have the service manual instructions for headliner removal (thanks again Doug) so I'm OK there.

I sealed mine with silicone, just because I didn't want any leaks, and I didn't trust the little seal that came with it, I also covered the saw cut edges with silicone too, to keep water off the bare metal edges. So far, not much rain, but a lot of car washes, and no problems... ... . DDG
