Does anyone know who manufactures the cab lights on the 2000 and newer trucks? I bought the light kit from DC several months ago and it included the older style light made by Petersen Manufacturing which I returned. I am looking for the newer style lights. The deal price for the newer style lights seem high since you have to buy them individually.

Thanks for the help.

I have them

Maybe I could sell them, not sure. I bought them a while back. Parts dealer hooked me up. Sort of. I bought a set, and they were the old style. They came with the template.

I didn't want them, so I ordered the new style (I told the guy that's what I wanted in the first place. )

They came, but without the template. Parts guy gave them to me at cost. The problem with the new style is the mounting. I'll have to dig them up and look at em again to be sure, but the angle that the bulb mounted required a larger hole in a different spot. I had already drilled them as per the template for the older style, so I just put the older ones on.

I have a 98 and just went to the dealer, and got the ones for the 2001 models... they look awesome, and way better than the beehive lights that were on the older 2nd gen trucks... just go to your local parts house, and they should have them. . just be ready to pay about $75... but they have the OEM look. . instead of the Auto store wannabe lights... . That's my . 02 worth!!!

Can somebody tell me what the part number is for a new-style clearence light kit? My dealer who I am pretty satisfied with ordinarily, has a couple of newbies in the parts department. They can't find the lights. I went to pick up my lights today, but they had the cargo light/brake light assy instead. I gotta try and help them out! I told them you guys knew EVERYTHING. Gonna have to leave some TDR brochures with them...

Thanks.

Cab Lights

The mopar cab light kit I just installed were part #82205120

I think they are the new style but dont know for sure, parts man said they didn`t sell old style anymore. Hope this helps.

Anyone know if this # is old or new style, I`m thinking they are the new style???

Cab Lites

Part #82205120 is the old style lights.

Part #55077067AA is the new style lights .

The newer style lights DO NOT come with wiring harness or connectors or bulbs, just the lenses and gaskets:mad:

I used the wiring harness and bulbs from the old style kit with the new style lights and it did work with some slight modification to the bulb holder to make them fit properly.

Does anyone know the part number for the wiring harness for the newer style cab clearance lights?

I called the parts department and they found a harness but it is $$$$$$$. They also needed to know if I had the overhead console with the trip computer. It would almost be cheaper to buy the older style light kit and take the harness out of there. :--) :--)

All I really need is a part number for the bulb sockets. I can make up my own harness if the sockets are available. Anyone know of aftermarket sources for the light sockets?

How much shorter...

How much shorter are the new style lights then the old style. I have been contemplating a set, but I don't have a lot of clearance between the slide-in and cab top as it is. I assume the new style are shorter, but I haven't been able to actually measure them and make sure.

Also, do the both mount in the same place? If one set mounts forward of the other, that would help my clearance issue.

Thanks,

-Vic

Vic R...

They mount in the same place. They are longer, but the center (where the screws are) are in the same place. So if you had old ones, and put new ones in their place, they would sit a half inch further back and a half inch further forward of where the old ones were.

The profile of the new ones are about 1/4" shorter. Width is the same. 'Hope this helps.

I installed kit part # 82207252 on my 03. It was a little pricey (around $80) but was complete with the harness, lights, lenses, and fasteners. I did the entire install as a first timer in about 3 hours.

I Have the new style kit 82207252 and the template is for the '03 truck, can I use a template from the old kit with the new lights?

When I visit www.dodgeparts.com and plug in the P/N:82205120 it says it did not find it. from what I understand this system is tied into DC's parts database and should at least find it. Do they still make this kit at all??

Thanks
