Helping a buddy install cab lights on his 05 this weekend, Do they plug into the factory harness? It is a Mopar kit,he said directions were to wire them into fuse box. I thought I had read somewhere that they plug into harness.

On factory-equipped trucks they do plug into a harness in the driver's side A-pillar. The connector should be there... only question is whether the light package will include the necessary pigtail.

Back when I had my '01 I purchased cab lights from the dealer. They included a new connector and a pin on the end of the wire to connect them to the back of the fuse block. It was a real PITA to reach down there to unplug the connector to install the pin so I tapped them into the light switch. The roof template was included and was a perfect fit. They are available for the '03 and up as well and from what I have read they seal better than the aftermarket units. About the same price too.

There is a plug for them but it's actually behind the passenger side A-pillar. I didn't know about it when I installed mine so I went to the fuse block as the directions show. I'd just cut the wire and splice into it rather than messing with the plug.
