Hey guys,

I have a mopar cab marker light kit 82207252AB that was made 04/06/06. My question is, aren't these lights suppose to have been updated to the rubber seals as per TSB 23-009-06?? Did they not update the kits? Or is my kit too old for the updated lights? Anyone buy a light kit lately? My lights have the mounting screws on the sides and have a foam type seal.

Thanks!

Earl

The updated marker lights have a black rubber gasket that ride about 1/8" up the side of the lens, gray foam is the old style that leak.

the dealer has to get the part no. from the TSB

this is the number off of the box

N. P. 55077559AD ( must order 5 )

I replaced my factory lights with the updated ones with the black gasket. They work great. The screws were front to back. They had to be ordered 5 at a time, 10 screws & nut inserts, 5 gaskets ect. It appears all the dealer kits have the side to side screws? I guess you could combine the two before you drill any holes.

When I purchased and installed my light kit, I put some clar silicone around the black gasket of the lights and some in the screw holes.

I have never had a problem with leaks

So the kits don't come with the correct updated lights?? I'd rather swap out my kit @ the dealer for another kit that has the updated lights than go buy 5 new lights and have more money in it than I already do. If the kits only come with the old leaking style lights, than I'd buy 5 of the updated lights and use the rest of the kit to do the install.

My question is, do the newest add-on kits come with the old style or the new style lights?

Thanks!

Earl

the lights i bought, part no. above, came with all screws a lens and gasket in each box, all were exact replacements, no hole drilling,

5 boxes required about 6. 50 each

Called the dealer today to order my cab lights and they said 82207252AB is replaced by 82207252AC. I won't know until Thursday what these lights look like as far as holes and gaskets.

I've install the kits on two trucks. Although they do not have the rubber pieces, the gasket is different, much stiffer. The problem I had with the factory lights was after 4 years they started to crack and leak. I could take them off, fill them with water and watch them leak. Bought the replacements, $7. 00 each from Dodge. One of them came with the rubber seal, but the gasket is way better. We just got 4 inches of rain this Saturday, (Storms that collapsed the Cowboys training center) and no leaks. Just have to deal with fixing the hail dents from a few weeks ago. :{

Does anyone have a picture of the cab light with this gasket. I just ordered 5 of the part number below and these definitely do not have a rubber gasket that rides up the the side of the lens. They have a black rubberized foam type gasket along the bottom side of the lens.

I wonder if the gasket is a separate part number that can be ordered separately?

Pcarlson, did you ever receive your kit and get them installed?

Jeff

Turbo1Ton is EXACTLY correct! Part # 55077559AD is the WRONG cab light to purchase - it is the old foam seal attatched to the bottom of the lens type. Not the rubber seal that rides up 1/8" of the lens (or TSB part #).

DO NOT BUY!!! I just got mine in today and this is what I found out! #@$%!

I was wondering why the price difference was about half of the other part # listed here - 82207252AC. I paid 43 bucks to my door with the wrong part and the right one would have been about 90.

So, I'm either going to use some clear RTV on the foam seal and put these on or maybe I'll save and get the right lenses.

Win some, lose some. I guess E-bay might be a good place to dump these .

That is strange those weren't the right ones? I replaced mine a year ago with that part number (55077559AD), and they were the ones with the black rubber seal. As for price, I paid $6. 35 each for them at my local dealer.

Yeah it is odd because that is the part number listed on the TSB. I'm not too bad off, I think I paid $38 for all 5. I can put them on Ebay or pay it forward or whatever but I'd like to have the corrected ones. Woudl anyone that has the correct one be willing to verify the part number by looking at the underside of the lens?

I just realized that I was shipped part # 55077559AC. According to MoparPartsAmerica.com the AD part # was superceded by the AC part #. That doesn't make sense. I might need to call them next week and see what is going on.

Jeff

I took one mine off yesterday and the part # on the bottom of the lens was the old, original 55077559AD that was superceded by 55077559AC.

Maybe today I'll take a gander down to the dealer today and see what they've got on the shelf. I'll post the results.

I'd bet that Dodge originally sold the upgraded lense w/the rubber seal under the old part number and then changed to a new, totally different part number along the way. I'd also bet that they did this so they could sell the thousands of the old ones that were sitting in warehouses due to the upgraded lense/seal on the new trucks. Why would the new "kit" cost twice the amount of five of the old ones?

I took one of mine off this morning and it is 55077559AB which looks remarkably like the AC. Not sure what they changed between the two. I do know that the thing was stuck down to the roof really well.

Jeff

Scott - I guess a gremlin went into the warehouse and swopped out the new lens for the old ones (foam on the bottom - no rubber gasket) and put them back into their box. This is the only explanation I can think of.

This is what I ordered on 27 May 09 and got on 03 Jun 09:

Part # 55077559AC which is on the box, receipt and e-mail order which was ordered from exactly the same place you did - http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=searchCatalogOEM&siteid=215022

I'm bewildered why you got the new style and I didn't. I just don't want anyone else to get stuck with the wrong part.

when you order 3rd gen cab light install kit from MOPAR with wiring harness, template, lenses, etc.

you get late 2nd gen cab lights :(

you have to order the individual replacement lights, and they will be the correct 3rd gen style w/ the good gaskets.

I will never understand Chrysler

The problem is they are not correct and do not have the good gasket, at least 2/3 of them.

I attempted to order the lights on the TSB which are part number 55077559AD. That part number was superseded by 55077559AC so I ordered five of those, as did AlaskanCummins and SWithrow. Scott was the only one of the 3 of us that got the correct gasket however we all 3 ordered the same part #.
