I have a 2008 3500 with amber cab marker lights. I have started having a water leak dripping off driver side sun visor clip. Looked at marker lights and the driver side lens is cracked, so I suppose this is where water is getting into cab. Checked with local NAPA store for their replacement lens. Don't have any in stock anywhere and won't have a factory order for a long time. Any suggestions for a replacement lens, Dodge OEM or Amazon? Looked on Amazon, but some that indicate will fit 2008 have screws in wrong place, across lens instead of top and bottom. If I go aftermarket, should I go LED and if so, what brand? Thanks for replies.

I replace the amber ones on my 05 with factory Mopar clear 4th gen ones. They are a direct fit. You could use an LED amber 194 bulb if you wanted. I would stick with factory I think the seals will be the best, and the screw holes will lineup as well.

Mine cracked and leaked first winter i bought truck, took to dealer and they said they have replaced quite a few on their dime, gaskets were not put on between cab and base, water got inside and froze and cracked lenses

Ram changed the position of the screws because of sealing problems.
If you want to do it once and for all then buy the new version and drill some holes. I had a Mopar Kit back then with all the needed hardware for the swap.

Oz, are you talking about 4th gen lights having different hole positions?
I installed some much later model year OEM's and they had extra little sealing washers to keep them from leaking. Not sure if they were for a 3rd or 4th gen now but they were the clear style and fit without drilling.

According to the link i provided above from Geno's...the '08 has the "new version" of the screw holes...same as my '17 ....the '08 are amber and not clear.

Still confused. Are the 4th generation direct fit with the 3rd generation? I'd rather not drill more holes. My cab has too many leaks as it is.

Yes. As I stated above I put 4th gen clear lights on my 05. Direct fit.

The clear ones didn't yellow but they got got an odd greenish tint to them and were very dull and old looking after a while. I've since gone back to ta new set of the amber ones.

Check the nylon washer under the screws. I took all mine off and cleaned the surfaces and gasket and found the little nylon washers broke under the screw head brittle. My leaks were like you.

I replaced mine that were leaking, with some led lights. When i reinstalled the new ones I added a little clear silicone underneath for added security.
