Every truck I see on the lot has a Quad-cab and a short bed. Does Dodge make an extended cab (not a Quad) and 8' bed anymore? If not when was the last year you can find one of these? I hope they still make this model as the Quad and 8' bed is just too long. I know Ford still has this option.

There is the single cab and quad cab. There is no demand for just an extended cab. Ford loses money with that option. Dodge cant afford to lose money like ford does.

You would not know Ford was losing money with the extended cab from the number of them in my area. They seem to be very popular with the contractors such as myself. What was the last year Dodge offered this model?

When I started looking at new trucks I was disappointed that Dodge didn't offer an extended cab. After Ford made it clear that they didn't want my money (lucky break for me) I got the QC with the 8' bed and haven't regretted it for a minute. I wanted the extended cab for dogs, but you get used to the QC real fast--kind of like a big screen TV.

Dodge does not make an extra cab truck anymore.

I'm not sure if you looked at the numbers, but I did before I bought my truck.

The dodge quad cab long bed truck is 249. 7 inches long

the ford supercab (extracab, not crew cab) longbed truck is 247. 6 so the dodge is only 2 inches longer than the ford and believe me, you'll love the quad doors over the extra cab doors.

Also, the dodge turns a circle in 52. 5 feet, while the 2 inch shorter ford turns it in 57. 1 feet.

So to me, it was a no brainer to go with the Dodge.

The Dodge quad cab is essentially the same as the Ford and GM extended cab trucks in wheelbase, and overall length in comparable bed lengths. The main difference is the Dodge has conventional opening rear doors. Check the measurements at www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com
