Is there a cable operated one instead of the vaccum one that can be purchased ?

Yes there is a cable operated front axle disconnect system. 4X4 Posi-Lok makes a kit that replaces the vacuum axle engagement system on the Dodge truck. Summit Racing sells them, part number POS-400 is for the Dodge trucks 94-2001. It sells for 199. 88. Good luck

I put the 4X4 Posi-Lok on mine. works great for me. I gave 162. 00 for it.
