Cummins Rocky Mountain Truck Fest – Open house at ATS Diesel Performance

Hope you're right buddy-I've been waiting for Elle Macpherson to return my calls here for the last little bit so maybe now is the time for that to happen! :D :D :D

Hey boys...

Just got home from a week in the field working, just left after the Sunday afternoon. .

It was a good show, the Dyno was disappointing for the first day. I wish Garth could have been there for the Sunday and we could have gotten some decent numbers for you... :( . The heat definitely slowed us all down.

We were all learning how to run this dyno for smaller modified trucks. . The test and tuning was fine for those 2 trucks, but after having other types of mods show up it was hard to load them correctly. This dyno is designed for the continuous testing of highway tractors and takes a little work for our smaller trucks. The thing is if you can use all your power on that dyno, you can use it anywhere and Scotty has proved that.

It was sure great to have representatives from the NWBombers up, Dee and Gary, You guys sure helped out alot!!

Brad at Waterous was impressed with the way the group pulled together for learning and to help out a fallen soldier. This group was definitely there to help each other out. .

Now that we know the short comings, maybe we can put on another event in the future. I hope to at least have an ABC get together in the fall for some coffee or whatever.

Those interested in the ABC. . Alberta Bombers Club throw me an email and maybe we can organize some events.

Thanks to all who attended and contributed to the event. .

Sounds like sunday was a good day for almost all except scotty. Did I understand correctly and he blew up his vp??:--) That`s too bad. . I`m not sure if mine would have done much better on sunday due to my overheat code in the ecm, the little sucker cuts back 40% of your power:eek: . If I had brought a DRB , things could have been a little better possibly for some others as well. .

Next year should prove a little better with a lot of learning curves for all of us from this year, don`t get me wrong, it was a fantastic showing from a lot of the vendors and for all who participated in organizing the weekend, thank you all.

Wow Rich, 248hp on your stock ETH Oo. Makes my little 283hp with my mods seem like nothing :{ . Oh well I guess I`ll just have to spring for some DD 3`s and a B1 and a BHAF and a 4" and an ATS manifold and a ... ... ... . Wait a minute... ... The pockets only go so deep!!!!!:( Talk to you guys later when I come back to reallity... Garth

The one thing the dyno did prove is that the boost vs. Hp is true to 10 Hp per #. I'm sure that you have at least 280 RWHP Garth as you were peggin your boost gauge LOL...

Scotty's problems were all electrical, none were found to be mechanical as far as I know. . The VP was fine, just the brains were scrambled.

I'd be interested in joining the ABC, I've seen many bombed CTD's running around these parts and it would be good to get together with some of these folks.

Garth I'm more than a little shocked at the dyno results. I'd like to test it stock on another machine to see if it repeats those #'s, but I feel a slight case of Bombing Fever coming on so that may not be possible :). At least I haven't come down with full-blown Bombing Insanity as is rumoured to have happened to poor Cold Diesel :D.

Message from the Wee One!

The following is a communique from our fearless leader... ... set your secret decoder rings to the applicable code and read on!

"I can't say enough about the great folks that attended the show but here goes a bit of it... I'd like to tell all that attended that is was great to see all of you and thanks for all the help with the show!

Several folks I had not seen in a long time attended and several I knew from being online where there.

Special thanks to ALL the vendors that committed to the show with prizes and/or made the drive to attend. Sled pulls in Strathmore are Sept 14,15.

I am very impressed with how much help there was after Great White fell asleep on the dyno. Alex generously provided his truck and dragged the 'omen' trailer with GW up to Hanna. When I offered to pay his expenses etc, he declined and said pass it on! Great way to do it and I sure can relate to passing it on. Pretty much everyone helped or offered help at the end of the show with tearing down and loading up all the tables, chairs and product. I am still getting calls of concern and interest on when the next show is!!! Jason Hoffman volunteered his time as an Alberta Bomber for both days and did an awesome job at the dyno and printer. Ian Hoyle [another Alberta Bomber] made the flange for the B1-A on the Friday and man was it hot out there while he welded his magic. Thanks Kurt Yardley for getting it here for the show. I'll send you an update of just how effective this application is.

Jason Hansen ran errands before, during and after the show as well as arranged for surgery in Hanna among lots of other things he helped with. I had the Calgary Police Truck unit shake down Rods truck... LOL. Rod Snaith came in early to help with set-up and testing [his new name is Push Rod], Gary, Willyslover sat out in the searing heat at the gate along with Dee Rawson and several other folks and offered a hand wherever they could. Many of us manually swept the parking lot for the Spin o' RAMma where rubber and soot became one with the camera lense of the film crew. :))

I enjoyed hanging at the campground with Vaughn and his date Roxie, Jason of NW Custom [he had a hard time converting Canadian Horsepower], Dee and his great family, Alex, Piers and Louise, Ian [Mr Mariachi] and his wife, as well as Push Rod and Jason. I left shortly after PR and JH started talking about sheep. I noticed Vaughn quickly grasped up his dog and left then too. Special thanks to Dee's wife for doing the BBQing.

If I left anoyone out it was not intentional as I am still digesting the trip and will probably recall more.

I have a new name as well... Mr. Tomato Head and once my head stops boiling and turns a lighter shade of red I will probably recall more of the show.

Sounds like there might be another LARGE gathering in the good ole prairies this summer... . Nothing like PILLAGING the PRAIRIES with the torque of a diesel.

Thanks for posting this Jason... I sure hope you do not get penalized for this as the rule book seems a bit too long for me to find if this is a foul or not.

Thanks again. Scott

P. S. A. B. C. used to stand for Albert Bombers Club

It has now been officially changed to Associated Bombers Club. :D "

Thnaks for the kind words Jason and Scott. Always glad to help out a buddy. I must warn people though! These events may lighten your wallet drastically;) I ended up with BOMB'ing fever and a large order was placed:D The comp box and Scotty 11 are on already and more coming soon from Rod's... injectors, exhaust, clutch and so on. :D :D Can't wait for the next event..... better bring money for a turbo next year I suppose;) A big thanks to Rod from Wildcat Diesel for some helping with my BOMB'ing fever and giving me some great deals. What a nice guy! Also my MPG went up on the way home after towing 'Great White' up some hills. I think it finished breaking my rig in finally:D It was really great meeting everyone at the event. I learned lots and made some new buddy's. Hope to see some of you again in Strathmore at the sled pulls!
