Really need some help yall

Akebono brake pads

After a visit to the dealer's service department for an airbag recall, my heater temperature control is not working right. When in the COLD position it is cold, when it's in the HOT position it is cold, but halfway it puts out heat. I assume it just needs calibrated.

I've seen the re-calibration procedure before - and I recall it is relatively simple - but I can't find the instructions anywhere now.

2005 with standard HVAC controls.

All I can find:

From what I know you need a computer for this, either DRB-III or AutoEnginuity, maybe SnapOn I don't know.
I used AutoEnginuity on mine for this and it worked perfect.

I think the Gen2 was the last one where the driver could do it.
Like said, I had to do it on mine and I did the research.

Ok guys, I think I figured out the problem. I’m pretty sure the mechanic put the blend door arm on backwards. If you look at the picture from the 05 (the one with the pretty little purple clip retainer), you’ll see it’s pointing toward the drivers side. On my 03 it’s pointing towards the passenger side.
When I work the controller back and forth, the steel linkage hits the steel frame of the dash as there is not enough clearance at that point.

Seems your doors are changed to the heater treater.
We did the Heater Treater in the 03 15 years ago or so. They were steel. The previous owner changed them in this truck. Not sure what brand, but they are aluminum. Always work very smoothly (until now).

Maybe I can get that screw out and turn the arm around? The dealer should fix that for free, but I just hate taking it there. The 03 had never been to a dealer since it was out of warranty.

So, they had to take this apart for the airbag recall?
Apparently yes. I'm currently watching this to see what they did

I haven't gotten to the part about removing the linkage to the blend door. Unless they somehow caught something on it.

I'd try to just disconnect the linkage from it and swing the arm to the upper position.
If they really had it apart more then likely the door with arm just swung down and was attached to the linkage in the wrong position.

Maybe.

Good idea. Probably a lot easier than messing with the screw - and less risky.
