Idiocy in Colorado and Arizona, Re: Fire

any one going between Idaho and Texas

You guys living in Calif. need to look at this. There is a bill being looked at that will really get some of you going! They want to start charging $. 02 per mile for SUV's and trucks as well as some special taxes. It is AB-1058.

www.wedrive.org has some info along with a canned letter you can E-mail to your reps as well as the Gov. Take a minute and send one to each of them if you are concerned about this. Just click on "take action" and follow directions.

This state really has its head buried where the sun don't shine!

Hey Mike, I'm not so sure that wouldn't be called a gang ba--, oh never mind, not sure I can say that here. :D

I sent letters to all three and got responses from two so far. Responses are canned but at least they got the letters. Need everyone to send in, lets get this crap stopped. Then need to find out who (read-what idiot) started this piece of art and try to get them canned in the next election.

Thanks paccool

I posted the AB 1058 in the General Diesel section.

I'm still HOT!

Thanks for the email thing, I'll be passing this info on to all the guys around the Delta Section of the SFO bay area. I'm sure all the farmers and country folk like me will find the time to email these folks.

No more help for those liberals from me. If they want something towed or hauled, I'll send a mule and cart!!Oo.

Food for thought.....

Reading this thread, I remembered this group of facts... .

Can you imagine working for a company with a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics: 29 have been accused of spousal abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 19 have been accused of writing bad checks 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year Can you guess which organization this is?????

It's the 535 members of the US Congress-the same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

I wonder if the three strikes and you're out law still applies in California or do they get political exemptions?

The problem is that the people around here believe in this kind of craziness & keep voting for these bloodsuckers.

Shortshift... no they are to damnn lazzzy to take their heads out of their collective assssses and look into what's going on around them... "they" figure someone else will do it for them . . and they continue to loose their constitunional rights a chip at a time.

look at the CARB, the school system, the NEA/CTA 's roll in backing liberal politics as well as the Union's, and many many other bureaucracies that namless faces dictate our policies.

AB 1058 is the product of Fran Pavley. She is the "Assemblywoman" for the California 41st district, Tom Hayden's:rolleyes: old district. This includes Santa Monica, Topanga and parts of the San Fernando Valley.

We live in a representative Democracy. You can actually call your "Assemblywoman" and tell her how you feel. Fran Pavley's office numbers

are: (310) 395-3414 and (818) 596-4141

I got a response from Virginia Strom-Martin this afternoon and she informed me she is a cosponser of the bill. I fired back a letter that will probably not get answered or will get me in trouble. I told her I was glad she told me she was a cosponser and that if the worthless bill passed, I hoped she did not get reelected! Was a cheap shot on my part but I was a little miffed!

Also told her it was discrimination to penalize a small group of people that needed to use larger trucks and vehicles for whatever reason by charging them a special tax or fee to use the roads.

I also told her that if the present gas taxes were used for what they were intended to be used for that we could have good roads, maybe even as good as some of our neighboring states have.

In closing the letter, I told her there was no common sense being used.

Oh me, why do I do these sort of things? I should sleep on things and then decide how to best answer rather than let my emotions fire me up. Oh well, at least she knows where I stand on the subject!:D

I believe you called a spade a spade.

I lived in Australia for the last four years and they considered your statements tame on the floor of the assembly. It a mud slinging contest over there. . :-{} No disrespect intend. In any case, I agree with what you said. That is why I left California and move to Washington state. I was lucky. I work oversea and can choose where I live and plan to retire in 7 years.

Good Work !!

We still live in the USA and you have right to voice your concerns and opinions, just as long you don’t hurt or threaten anyone. Suggesting that you not vote for someone is OK!

I received a reply from the Gov’s office just pacifying me on my original concern. I’m sure that pansie just blew it off, like he did with our electrical power outages last year. Now he’s up to his neck in alligators. Where was this guy back in 1969?

I am now curious as to what type cars/trucks these politicians drive? If fact, do they have motor pools? I say we start a Bill that would eliminate all motor pools for state politicians. This would certainly reduce co2 emissions that they are so concerned with. In fact I would personally donate one mule and one cart to drag them to their next meeting. Walk the Talk I say!

Stan thanks for the NorCal Truck Rally info. Maybe I'll show up and pass out flyiers on AB 1058?? Or maybe I'll just set them on a table and run,. . I don't want them thinking I'm part of the Ab 1058 group, not in front of those guys!!

UPDATE

Last night I got some info that says the sponsors of the 1058 bill have changed some of the wording and are trying to push this through as a new bill -AB1493 if I remember right. The "we-drive" web site above is supposed to have a new letter to send for this one. I tried to send but the only letter I found was still for the 1058 bill.

Now it sounds like they are trying to back door us!

Anyone know more about this?

Stan

As of yesterday afternoon F'ing Fran needed 4 more votes, I believe to move the bill out of committee or something. I heard it on the radio, and was driving and wasn't paying a lot of attention. But I do remember the 4 votes needed part.

I suppose since California is such an incredibly beautiful state, and everyone wants to live there, the only way they can cut down on over-crowding is to pass stupid, unfair legislation.

But then, I remember that liberals are everywhere, and Kentucky has a nauseatingly disproportionate share of them. That may change, we've seen a power shift in the state capitol, and all of us conservatives are holding our breath, hoping we'll actually gain the upper hand this year!

Paccool, rrausch, keep up the good fight. I'll do the same on my end of the country.

After I posted this morning, there was an article in the paper that said this has already been approved in the house and is going tom the Gov. for final signature. Sounds like they greased this one enough to really slip it through fast.

Just a few more years and I,m going to leave this state. It's a nice place to live but the politicians are really taking control. I'm getting to damned old for this and my temper hasn't gotten any tamer with age! This stuff gets the old blood pressure up!!!

Look out all the rest of you guys in the other states. it will catch up with you, just a matter of time. Seems the lack of common sense is getting to be an epidemic.

Stan

This Kommiefornia State SUCKS!!!!

I hate this state!!! I hate this state!!! I HATE THIS STATE!!!

OK I feel better now... . I think:rolleyes:
