Back in the shop today, Batt icon on with low voltage message and the voltmeter showing 13V

After this gets fixed I would take some heater hose and cover the bare alternator battery lug. Just to make sure lightning, literately, doesn't strike twice.

I wonder if the charge wire melted the insulation somewhere and is shorting intermittently?

The alt power wire does have s cover but I have seen people capable of breaking anything

Word has it now, that the Dealer is waiting for FCA to issue a case number. Maybe you can shed some light on the subject Bob4x4?

Translation they are waiting for star to tell them what to do.Last 8 of the vin I can see the case

Well its the company's issue now. Unfortunately for me the timing couldn't be worse. I gave a two week notice on tues, the day after it had to go back into the shop for the same problem, and the owner just fired me. They were even sneaky about it, getting the truck first to hold my tools hostage. I don't understand the human race sometimes. Any way its not my problem any more. I'll be removing it from my signature now.
