Competition Calling out Hasselbach's twin turbo Viper

I have known of Dana for a while and some may call hom a kid but that kid has built some of the fastest street cars on the west coast. I remember him being fresh out of high school and building the worlds fastest mini truck. There are not to many people in the Vegas high performance seen that would even try to challange him to a race let alone show the amount of disrespect that has been shown to them. I do not remember any negitive post from KLocklier or any one else associeted with the race. Sounds like a lot of hot air to me

As expected, they didn't show - even without the car. I went down there late today to shake Garths hand on that incredible number. AWESOME!

UPDATE: Hasselbach never showed and never called back. Garth and the boys went up to the meeting place this morning with the car ready to go.



Setup a race with a 187rwhp Hayabusa, from 40mph on. The race "course" is from bridge to bridge, 7/10 mile.



Garth beat the 'busa by 2. 5 BUS lengths, and was radared going through the second bridge at 214 MPH! He says the car was still pulling hard in 6th! From the dyno, I know the end of 5th gear (1:1 ratio) is 194mph. No idea where 6th runs out (yeah, I could do the math, but why?), but it would likely pull HARD into the 240-250 range, maybe more, with the right tire.



Cummnzpowr, yes, that is the same guy.

I lost you on that one. The race has always been tonight, and this is the first I have been at the computer since friday night.



We've left numerous messages for Garth, and told him the race was going down as planned. It was never Saturday night as we couldn't be ready by then anyway.



As far as we are concerned, its still a date for tonight, and we'll be there as promised. If a no show, maybe we'll do a run anyway and post the radar results.

I owned a GSXR1000 for a few months, had it up to 186mph twice. That's fast, nobody in their right minds would do that in the dark.

Hasselbach has sent me a PM, and offered to race. Told us to bring 10k minimum to a secret location this Sunday night at 12:30am. I have PM'd him for a phone number for Garth to call him directly. Not my car, not my money, but I'll gladly do the intro.



If it were me, I wouldn't be interested in going 200mph in the dark, side by side with another car on a 2-lane road (the proposed location is 2-lane). I doubt Garth will either, but I'll do the intro.

I dont understand the big money issue, we run cause we love the rush and the cars period. . I find it funny that you throw a huge $ amount into the equation. Just run your Viper and shut us all up... So Tim, you have his number, call him if you have something to change here. I'll tell you, Garth is about the most humble guy I know for what he has in the garage/backyard etc. If you beat him, he'll be the first guy to run up and shake your hand and say good job. He, like a lot of us out there, have an appreciation for the money, time, effort and longing that it takes to put together a car of this caliber.



I personally think this whole thing got totally blown out of proportion. I also kinda suspect that you threw a big dollar amount out there hoping that "the little guys" wouldn't have the sack to step up to it, which leaves you an easy out. Honestly, if the motor just went together a few days ago, and was on the dyno doing the tuning yesterday, how ready is it to run tomorrow? Not many people would do that to a street car. Race car, maybe.



If it's not worth bringing your car out to show them what's up, at least go show up and introduce yourself.

Dude, I don't sit in front of the keyboard and this is the first time that I have been at the computer since Friday night. That's total BS that we didn't call on Friday night either. Both Keith and I left numerous phone messages to Garth, and got tired of listening to his out going message.

What about critters? at 200mph plus as you say your viper can do..... lets say a little furry critter... a rabbit jumps out onto the road..... what happens..... Instant crash.
