I need some direction on my 2006 RAM (stock). The truck generated a DTC of P0341 three weeks ago, it continued to run just fine so I reset the code only to have it come back in approximately 30 seconds. I ordered a new CAM sensor and installed it only to have the code reappear 30 seconds later. Two days later my AC quit during a 90 degree day, charge is good and transducer on Hi side line is good, I haven't checked anything else yet.
I returned to my original problem of the CAM sensor being bad and ordered another CAM sensor just in case I received a bad one. When I received the new one I checked the resistance values between the new and old sensor, both are within a 2% tolerance so I feel my original sensor was not the problem.
My questions are what should I check next and can these two problems be related.
THANKS in advance for any input.

You can exchange the cam and crank sensors (same part) and see if it follows the part but I suspect there's something either wrong with the wire at the connector or something else on the bus is pulling it down.

Thanks for the reply.
I didn't have time to pull the CAM sensor tonight (that thing is a pain to get to) but did inspect the wires. They appear to be good to the point that they enter the protective wrap, can't tell past that point. Do you know if there are any particular areas where these wires may rub or be exposed? If it does not rain tomorrow I will swap the sensors and see what happens.
Will let you know what happens. THANKS!!!

If the cam gear is slipping off the cam you will a sensor code, but I think that's more with a P0340.

The P0341 means the ECM is no longer seeing any signal, the service manual has a lot of testing for the wires. Do you have a copy of it?

I have the exact same problem with my 06. WTF ! I have changed the sensors and swapped the crank/cam sensors and the cam sensor p0341 still pops up. I thought that I had it fixed with the last swap but after about 200 miles it popped up again. I would really like to know how someone else solved the problem. At this point I am just letting things take their course and hope that this P0341 doesn't leave me stranded somewhere along the road. I will be leaving on a 3 month trip towing a 30' airstream and will keep my fingers crossed and hope that this situation doesn't cause problems. Any advise, solutions, suggestions ?
Thanks

Aside form the fact a lot of the sensors are just junk from the start, probably have the same issue as the fan speed codes. Any small connection problem in the harnesses back to the ECU and you get anomolous readings. Sensor might not be really bad.

I have a Goerend built automatic. [really great !] Pac brake & bags, one piece aluminum drive shaft, Amzoil bypass oil filter, remote Cat fuel filters, Mag-hytec DD trans pan & differential cover. 210,000 miles and running great except for the P0341 and driver side low beam out & it's not the bulb ! Over all very pleased with the truck except for the afore mentioned B.S.

I have swapped sensors and still have the same problem. I do have the service manual but trying to trace and ohm out the wiring harness is very difficult, am going to stop by the salvage yard tomorrow and see if I can gather a few connectors that can be made into pig tails instead of trying to push wires into the connectors, afraid I will ruin the existing connectors.
My truck is an all stock manual transmission.
Will keep you posted as to what I find but it is strange that the AC quit 2 days after this problem occurred.
THANKS!!!

For some reason manual trans trucks have done this more than auto trans. The fix assuming you have good wiring and connectors is a new cam. I have seen a hand full and in every case the cam fixed it. You can not see any wear or anything out of the ordinary. Hope it is wiring, but if it isn't the cam will most likely fix it.

Sag, I could see that on a P0340, but I am not sure on a P0341. Looking into it more the 341 deals purely with the sensor, not the reading.
