In my effort to improve my 4X4 2500 Rams steering, I ran across the alignment specs recommended by Brent that have been talked about on this forum. My question relates to his reference to setting the camber with eccentric sleeves in the upper ball joints.
According to my factory service manual, there is no way to adjust camber on 4X4s
Can anybody shed any light on this?

I recall reading about a TSB that includes the needed hardware. Maybe Fritz would know?

From what I've been able to find, there are aftermarket offset bushings for the Dana 60 axle and offset ball joints for the Dana 44 axle.

I haven't fully researched this, but here's a link you can start with: Ingalls-Dodge4x4

Curtis,
You are correct. The camber is basically set at the factory on the solid front Dana axles and is not adjustable unless you get the offset upper ball joint sockets that screw into the upper part of the steering knuckle. Been there and done that on a '85 Dodge Ramcharger with the Dana 44 front axle. The dealer I took it to originally said they couldn't fix but told me a place where
I could get the offset bushing. So I got the bushings myself. They're not that expensive but talk about labor for the install, whew!

Thanks for your ideas guys. My truck is a '95 and I don't currently know what my camber is compared to the specs. I was just trying to understand how to get my alignment shop to follow them.

Curtis,

What is the year of your truck? Mine is an 01 and they currently do not make a ball joint for it yet. My alignment shop still says it will be June #ad
until the part comes in.
