Camper shell

I have a 98 12 valve, quad cab, long bed. I am looking for a camper shell and have stopped by the local dealers.

All the company brochures and web site pics are of new trucks. I have google image searched for days and I'm having trouble identifying the make and model of the camper shells I find.

The selection is a bit limited for 20 year old trucks but I can get a Leer 100R or an ARE V locally without much trouble.

Does anyone have one of these camper shells on a 2nd gen? I would love to see some pictures. Thanks for looking and for any help you may be able to offer! MBanning

Not a QC but it was a long bed 2nd Gen with the Leer topper. I really liked the flip up side window. I made a rack that held a couple of tool boxes that were readily accessed by opening the window.

Thanks for the pictures. The single handle latch is no longer available from Leer for the 2nd gen trucks. That is nice.

The pictures also raise another question. Leer shows a skirted side on their new models (I added pic from their catalog) but your shell has a piece of trim along the bottom edge. I wonder if ordering a shell now means it has skirted sides or a trim piece?

I believe they’re all like your pic now. I have no experience with the newer ones but I think I’d like it better. Cleaner looking.
