Camping Alone

Has anyone ever camped alone in an RV or a tent? What was it like? Would you do it again?

Yes I have. Quiet. Peaceful. Slept as long as I wanted, etc. . I did get a little bored after I finished the book I was reading, but I had a lot of time to just think and process things. It kept me from making a very bad decision, and at the end I was really quite refreshed and re-energized. Hope this helps.

Camped alone many times and will do it again many times. No problems for me. Only real difference is not having anyone else to talk with which is not a problem for me.

Everyone is different - but I don't like it......

I always have my Dog along - and as a result - I'm not alone... ... but being Completely Alone... ... Nope - don't want to so that..... I enjoy sharing with others to much and again there is the situation of help in case of an emergency... . and if you don't think emergency's come along - cancel your insurance and don't take a spare tire! Oo.

I have a few times and I have to say I slept better then ever.



I found a campground with 4 sites by the lake we stay at and stayed there for 2 nights before my family came and we moved to the larger campground that has bathrooms and showers. Best sleep I have had in a LONG time.

I love it. Take a few beers, radio and a fishing pole. Small cooler w/ bologna, bread, water. About 2 nights is enough for me.

I have mixed feelings about it. In open country, far from civilization in an area with no designated campsight and not another human around for miles, I found it difficult to get a good night sleep. I was up with every noise expecting a bear or bigfoot attack.

In a state camp, things were a little different. Civilization was a lot closer, and I figured there were plenty of other people around for bears to eat instead of me.

It's remarkable the way fear can grip you in the pitch black out in the middle of nowhere. You quickly realize why humans are social. I don't know how Les Stroud does it on Survivorman. Maybe the fear subsides with experience? I mean, statistically, it's extremely unlikely you're going to be attacked and eaten in the woods.



But if a bear decides to eat you at 2am on a cloudy or moonless night, even with a firearm you're unlikely to survive.
