Hey I have seen 99mpg on my overhead. Of course thats when being pushed down a grade by my trailer and resetting the overhead.

There is no way that a 5. 9 Cummins is getting 30-35mpg. 20-24 I can believe. The best I get in mine hand calculated is a tad over 19mpg, and thats cruising at 65mph on a nice flat highway with a tailwind.

I do have the speedo corrected using the smarty so I believe these are very accurate, also the overhead always is off by 2-5mpg on the high side?

I get 20 with just highway at 60mph with some hills on my commute. I get about 18. 5 with mostly highway and some city (80/20).

What about those propane injection systems, aren't they supposed to drastically improve milage. I thought I remember seeing some where they where getting about 30 mpg with it. Keeping in mind you are trading it for added expensive of another fuel of course.

I have 509 miles on my current tank, and the fuel gauge is 1/4 of the way between the 1/4 and 3/8 mark. The last few tanks my low fuel light has been coming on at about 600 miles, and I have been getting 19. 6 MPG fairly consistently (The OH has read 26-27. 5). Just before my current tank, I updated the tune on my Quadzilla MMM to the city driving tune, and I think it has helped my mileage some because before, right at 500 miles, I would be right at 1/4 tank or even slightly below it (the OH is reading 28. 7 right now BTW). So I am hoping for at least 20. 5 MPG out of this tank, but 21 would be sweet. When I fill up, I stuff it as full as it will go (takes alot of patience and about 5-10 minutes extra) but that way, I know my hand calculated MPG numbers are about as accurate as they are gonna get.

My truck consistentlty gets 35-40mpg... ... ... when I get to the top of a steep grade I simply hit reset on my overhead computer as I descend-done. It erases my 17-21 regular mpg and gives me immediate bragging rights to any passenger.

It goes back to my opinion that most people decide on a fuel economy they're happy with and report that as fact. After a short time, they believe it themselves.

Ask him to show you his fuel log. And tell him he has the single most fuel efficient Ram on Earth, having beaten USMCBay.

Well said, Ryan.

My best has been 20. 2mpg, but I am VERY happy with that considering it is an 8338 lb 4x4 dually pickup and also considering that my wife's 5. 7 Hemi MDS Durango weighs in at around 5300 lbs and averages 12. 7mpg!

1700-1900rpm for me with my truck the best milage is between 55 and 70mph (19. 6-22mpg) See my sig. truck is same as your spec's. Beyond 75mph the milage goes to hell... . too much wind resistance and weight to move.

I just filled up yesterday and got 21. 0 MPG (640. 5 miles on the trip and took 30. 5 gallons to fill). The overhead said 28. 9, the low fuel light hadn't even come on yet, and the DTE on the overhead said 65.

You need that fuel tank vent Mod ... it will save you 10 mins at every fillup. Its the most time saving mod you will ever do.

This prank has been around since engines and cars been around but mostly in the 30's and 50's. You sneek up to a friends ride(while he sleeping) and add fuel to the tank. Your friend brags about the fuel mileage he is getting. When you get tired of the bragging you siphon fuel out of the tank leaving him mistified why he is suddenly get worse mielage than a tank.

Tell your friend to buy a locking fuel cap.

No, but two of them can, at the same time!

Tow one behind the other. The first one gets 15-17 mpg, and the second one rides for free. So you get an average mpg of 30-35.

Maybe that's the carpooling of the future!
