The CAN-BUS standard is actually very reliable and VERY interesting to study if you're a geek like me.



The ability to have a 'broadcast network' that supports up to 1Mbps (in current form... ) on a shielded twisted pair of wires is really cool.



Also - the ability to intercept and 'snoop' on communications data in the 'BUS' without affecting operations is a huge plus for diagnosis and *hint, hint* modifying the data. :cool:



It is frightening how easy it is to snoop and modify CAN-BUS communications... . especially in vehicles. *evil grin*
