My truck is producing 34 lbs of boost while pulling a hill or at WOT. Is there any chance of this damaging my turbo or causing it to fail earlier than it would at stock levels? I enjoy the power but reliability is my first priority.

Thanks.

As long as the EGT's don't go over 1250 (pre turbo), or the engine temp over 220, it should be fine with proper cool downs.

I have close to 140k on my turbo and I overboost daily. I push it to 42-45 lbs of boost without failure. It is horribly ineffecient to do so but It has worked for me til I can afford a b1.

Animal covered it, boost does not hurt turbos, HEAT hurts turbos and rapid RPM changes (Flooring your truck and winding the turbo up then coming off the throttle really quick)

I can hit 52 psi with my stock turbo easy, and do several times a day. Been this way for a year, no problems. You'll be fine.

I'd just worry about your poor little boost gauge :-laf

This might be a dumb question, but what do you do to your turbo to get 42,45-52 lbs of boost from a stock turbo with my setup. I want it !!!! Oo.

lotsa fuel. 4" exhaust, Bhaf ,super mentals, drag comp shoud cover it. A hill to give the truck something to work for. Do it at night while the air is denser too. I live in alaska so the 75 is pretty high. 60-65 normal evening temps.

Edit: I have the 12 cm housing not the nine. I recommend a 16 for the power that im at. If not a h2e or b1

Ray, Mines is like big daddy's, I have a 16cm housing but since I added the 370's I can hit 40 PSI, just going to have to live with it for a while.

P. S. I still have torch temps!

Jim
