Tires For My Dually????

I want to knock a few RPMs off my highway cruising speed in an attempt to eke out a few mpg, but don't want 3:55 gears swapped in. Can I put 285-75/16 tires on my factory rims? I prefer not to do a 2" suspension lift, but will if needed. Is this a better option that the pricey 19. 5 route (since I need new tires anyhow)? Also, what will recalibrate my speedo (Hypertech?)? Truck is an '02 3500 QC HO 6-speed with VanAaken chip and BD exhaust. Its GCWR is 23k daily.

Thank you

Matt

will not fit

the duals will rub together

you would need to get custom made rims with more offset and a wider rim

255s is the widest I would put on that rim

Agades is right, they'll rub... UNLESS you use spacers between the duals. It's not a big problem, spacers are pretty cheap, and easy to come by. Makes the outside dual stick out way past the fender.

My brother runs 295/75 BFG all terrains on his 98 3500. Yes you will need the spacers they are 2in. and they cost $250. he pulls heavy everyday and hasnt had any trouble. you really have to play with the air pressure to get the tires to wear right. He ran them for a few months with no lift and they didnt rub. He now has a 2in. leveling kit and it looks great.
