Ive never gotten a straight answer as to what size Delivery valves are in each HP pump

160

175

180

215

Someone who KNOWS wanna step up?

Thanks, Jim

Hmm, so I could get anybody that has upgraded their 180 or 215 pump DV's and it would be a good upgrade for me? Can they be re-used and will they work in the smaller pumps?

the 160 pump has 131 dv's. the 175 pump has 151 dv's and the 180 and 215 both have 181 dv's.

Cool. So I guess upgrading to 191 D/V's would be decent for me. I have a 175 so I see I have 151's. I just didnt want to go from 181's to 191's Dont seem to be to big of a difference.

Thanks

Signal73- Hey since we both have 175 pumps and marine injectors I got a ? for you. Do you have any problems with low RPM bucking under light throttle? After my 300 injector install I had this problem and I've heard DV's cure this problem, I'm hoping . 181's will do it since I only have 300's and not 370's and the bank account is quite low at the moment so I can't afford $250 for DV's.

Anybody know where I can get the special socket?

Piers has the socket the cheapest Ive seen for $30.

The only bucking I have is if I bring it up to speed from say 1100 rpms through 1250 rpms lugging the engine with the clutch all the way out, but I dont do that too often anyways. If I give it more pedal when its bucking it clears it right up. IIRC, It did the same thing with my stock injectors, Just not as bad.

They sell 191's on ebay for $230 all the time for what its worth save $20 anyways.

Jim

Yeah same here about 1000-1300 RPM with light throttle, give a little more throttle and it's fine.

Well I was hoping that someone would sell their . 181's for under $100, I would think so what else are they gonna do with them? So I posted a WTB ad in the classifieds.

my local shop priced DV's to me @ around $75 for my truck could they be used? Its been a wile but the term " re cut" may have been thrown out there

when disscussing DV's I dont rember.

It was defenetly worth it going from 131's to 191's... ...

It is almost necessary to make the switch to something bigger if you are going to run big injectors. Not necessarily 191's, 022's or LC's. 181's seem to work very well in some situations.

Yep, all (at least should have) 175 pumps in Dodge's had 131's.

I don't totally understand the delivery valve thing. If someone had a 180 pump with stock 151 DVs or whatever and wanted to run an intermediate injector like 300s would there be any gain jumping to 171s? Even if there's not drivability issues? I say 171s instead of 181 or 191 DVs because I'm basing this on not planning to go with a bigger injector later on.

I assume DVs should be relatively matched to the size of injector being run?
