i have 2001 3500 sport . i want to install the factory compass and themometer firtst off were do i get it and ore the wires in the hole to pluge onto?

The wires should be in the ceiling. Try a salvage yard for the unit. There was one in the classifieds a few weeks (?) ago.

for about $15

You can get a mini "airguide" like I have in the other truck. I mounted it dead in front of the driving position on the dash. I see 'em mounted centerline of vehicle and that's silly--you've got to be behind it to read it. And I've found the compass to be very handy for RDF and roads with no names in unfamiliar lands. Must have one for the Cummins. But don't think I'll do the OEM thing--too vague.

And stick your finger out the window for temperature readings--reads F or C depending on your nationality. :p

Just get a little GPS for about $125 and mount it to your dash. Better than any compass and maps out your route as you drive. It also gives you your speed. I use mine instead of my speedometer as my speedometer is off by about 5%.

You'll love your GPS;)
