I bought a new truck yesterday and they delivered it today and second time I got in it the CEL came one is there a way to read what the code is.

The truck is a 2013 3500 larime longhorn 4x4 with the push button start so I don't know if I can do any key cycling like I can on my 03 and 04 trucks.

It says no stored messages under the EVIC. Am I to assume it will go out after a couple of key cycles.

IDK. When the people who installed my camper shell removed the CHMSL (they said it would reflect on the window), I got a message on that screen. I painted the bulb and reinstalled it, and no longer get the message. Traditionally some types of codes go away after 5 or 20 starts. It may depend on why the CEL came on. Still learning about all the new software and features of the '13s.

Thankfully the code reader that I had for my 2005 works fine on the 2014. What really annoys me is that there is no service manual available. ALLDATA doesn't even have the 2013 listed yet or I'd subscribe to it. I prefer to do all my own routine maintenance and the owners manual has very little data except "Take to dealer".
