Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
I hope I am in the correct section. We have been converting our one ton gassers to NPR trucks in our landscaping business. We by decent, older truck, paint them, fix them and put them to work.
I recently got a 2003 NPR with a locked up 5.2 in it. Bought it for next to nothing and tons of new parts. Engine is locked and we need to remove the engine and trans all together.
Looking at taking an easy way out if it works. I can find 3.9 engines fairly easily and priced ok. A used 5.2 with 100k is $7,000.
If the 5.2 is not worth rebuilding, is it possible (how difficult if it is possible) to stick a 3.9 in the truck?
Im learning as I go and not really a mechanic so go easy on me. lol.
