I bought 4 gallons of their HD 5w40 ADO oil before I sold my 06 truck, I go and sell my truck yesterday and what do I see on my porch 4 gallons of backordered Amsoil oil, being I will be buying a 22 CTD soon can I use the 5w oil I have or do I really need 10w30 ADN as I would hate to have to try to sell what I have ad not all like that oil...

Yes you can use that oil, the specs are for 10w-30 or 5w-40.

Good to know as stupid stealership said only 10w30 is to be used in the new CTD, thought it was not correct as I can not see 10w in cold weather places and they asked why I wanted to know if engine had block heater, said it doesn't get cold enough in Oregon to need one thus none of the truck they order have cold weather package and they wonder why I'm looking out of state for a new truck...

That's on the banned list of words. I had the same issue on a post of mine in the past and I worked at one and know they are!
And yes, you can use the 5w-40 year round if you so wish. Hope that you get the new truck with all the gadgets you want!

Thanks am I'm surprised that the word is a no no, but then now days it seems like way to many words get banned that IMO are not bad but then I guess I'm just to old to get it...

No, it’s 12 month oil changes now so use the oil you need for winter all the time.

I’d run ADO as well.

Oh my that's good to know as I hated it when my dealer in IA got up set with me going 12 month 10K OCI when I used 5w Amsoil in my 06 and why I went to using Rotella 5w40 T6, I got told they would void my warranty if I went longer then 6 months or 7500 miles so did not have $$ to fight so just went to 6 month OIC using my oil and filter and was shocked they then only charged my $20.. to install my oil filter and lube the truck so will now I will have to see what local dealer will charge me to install my own stuff... Oh will my DBL 7349 oil filters work on the new CTD???

Yes the DBL7349 will work, and is still the best full flow option.

The IA dealer wasn’t very knowledgeable, as the 06 could go up to 15K between changes but 6 months was still a thing up until 2019.

I run the 5W-40 Syn Rotella T6 no need to worry as its all weather and I'm not doing more than annual changes so its not that much more.
