Just like the title says,

I'm interested in purchasing a used DTT 89 % TC & VB from a '96 12- valve CTD. Will the TC & VB work in my '02 CTD???

Please help me out as it appears from DTT's site that the TC may swap just fine, but I'm unsure about the VB.

I've tried callin DTT but everytime I do Bill K is out or unavailable. I'm ready to buy, I just need to be sure these pieces will work in my truck.

Thanks in advance.

:D ;) :) Oo.

peter, you should also do some reading on the DTT BB in regards to Bills article titled " why not just a VB & TC"

do it right the first time :)

you are running DD3's and a drag comp on a stock transmission  Holy s----

Bob: I'll check DTT's site but I'm really only lookin to do a TC & VB right now. Also, it looks like from the other posts that this VB may work. Any further thoughts? Thanks for your input too.

Drag Comp & DD3's has been FANTASTIC so far. I dyno'd 400 RWHP and 800 TQ already but I HATE how my trans is SO LOOSE in 1st-2nd. I LOVE the way it feels locked-up in 3 + 4. That tight link is what I'm hopin to get outta this TC & VB upgrade. That and s'more power to..... :D

Jrandol: I've been runnin this way for 10K absolutely no issues so far on bone stock transmission... I don't tow heavy though. . my truck is for pleasure use primarily... . and to teach Ricers a few lessons on CTD 0-60 times... ... .

Cooker: So, can I use this 96 VB on my '02 or not? Any thoughts?

Thanks again guys... . just tryin to make some good choices here for BOMBs... .

I'm not sure. Even though you have the same model transmission as a 1996 I do not think that you can use the same VB. My only info for this is on DTT site they list VB's for 1996-1998, 1998. 5-1999. 2000-2001, and 2002-2003. Just by looking at that I would say there are some differences between years. However you may be able to use the VB with some modfications, I don't know. The best way to figure it out is to give DTT a call tomorrow. Sorry I could not be of more help.
