I would like to change the power steering pump fluid(STEERING FEEL'S HEAVY WHEN COLD) & I have a gallon of AMSOIL ATF+4. I know most GM use ATF but my manual say's to only use the mopar fluid. I put this stuff in my trans and it shifts much better when cold and by the way the old fluid & filter looked new.

Some folks use Amsoil ATF in their PS,but it's not rated for it nor recommended by Dodge. Use Valvoline sny PS fluid, works better than Mopar PS fluid in cold weather.

I wouldn't use ATF in the power steering system. It would probably work fine, but it could cause the seals to start leaking. Nothing worse than leaks.

Hery Hickster,

I would not do it because transmission fluid has been known to play havic on seals. It can and will make you pay for a pump in the future.

Scary
