I thought my TC was going bad, but looking and OEM manual there is an overdrive clutch. Since my truck slips a lot under load in 4th gear, could it be OD is the problem ?

Could be OD, could be the 2 other clutch packs that are engaged during OD that are giving you the shudder.

Sounds like a good ol' performance rebuild is necessary. You'll love it after sticker shock.

That's what I was afraid of :{

I am a BIG wimp and don't like these shocks... . :D

Well I am really trying to see if I can get away from it, but looks like I have no choice.....

You might be able to tell if it's the TC or one of the other clutches. Watch the tachometer when it slips, you should not see more than about 500 rpm rise in engine speed if it is the TC. bg

Upgraded transmission

:cool: Bite the big one and get the upgrade of your choice! You'll be amazed at the results. Immediate throttle response and power to the ground! :D

Had two bad clutch packs in the trans, and a bad sun gear in the O/D unit, on my old stocker.

Goerends fixed me up nice. :D Almost 8k miles now. Still works great. :D
