Gotta tell you Kat, that if you came out here, you'd be in huge danger of never going back to being a flatlander.

This one is near here... Comes complete with little "alpine village" like area, tram up the mountain, skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer, pack rides...

Here's the sunset view from Rob Hanson's retirement site...

How's that for a view?

Omaha will seem like a distant bad dream :)

Cliff's busy today. He can get to it on Monday, provided they are open.

I could probably DRIVE down on Monday, but that would mean leaving the monsters home to wreak havoc with the house... :D

try Bob Beachine(sp?) the members are listed in the travel companion

Bob works and lives in SE Portland (close by)

After looking at the pictures you posted vs the site of the former trade center, Coule a computer consultant make a living out there?

Mark - You would have to pick a time when the outlaws (I mean inlaws) are coming for dinner. If you don't find somone for today/tonight then I can sneak down there Saturday AM.

Only 1 problem - I don't know how to drive an Automatic :D

Hey - Is that Wallowa Lake ?

They are open tomorrow. They close at like, 6pm or so...

Kinda hard to get there unless you don't have to do mundane stuff like... . work :)

Yeah. Intel is in Portland. Lots of IT stuff in Seattle.

If you do telecommute stuff, who cares where you are?

Check out www.dice.com and search for your speciality in the OR, WA, ID area...

To see more of the NW, visit www.nwbombers.com and repeatedly click on the "scenery" and "members" links.

There will be more coming soon.

Well remember before here I lived in CO for a while, and now I "dispatch" CO for the railroad. So I have had plenty of views when I would go out and ride trains in the mountains :D

So I know lil bit bout them thar mountains :D

Nice pictures Mark!

I'll save them on the PC and click them up from time to time.

Looks like there is no ocean, no beach, and no surf. Probably no surfing either.

Oh well... gotta stay here I guess.

Good luck on the truck.

You can windsurf on the Columbia in January. It's a little chilly, but what's a little chilly when yer having fun?

Hey PW, you didn't say if some one will check out the truck for you. If you need it done e-mail me at -- email address removed --. OK?

I can be there in about 4 hours providing I don't have to squish some hyundai going through seattle.

let me know dave----- hdm48

It's confirmed that BV is going over to check it out today.

I should have a response from him by this evening.

Thank you, Martin. Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

The report is in from the truck... It is NOT acceptable.

It has serious wiring, suspension, clutch problems, oil leaks, and is rusty in several places, and quite beat, including welded sheet metal and bent box.

I won't be taking it.

Sorry about that, guys... .

But my public thanks to BV for his legwork and a very thorough examination of the truck. He did his better than good deed for the day :)

The peacup

As PW mentioned:

Front fender ripped and "welded at home", front bumper the same, box was beat up and light rust (forgot to mention goose neck removed and covered by steel plate), cab was musty smelling with indication of moisture (mold and rust), seats replaced with captians chairs w/center folding consul that was improperly installed, wiring was hacked up pretty good under the dash and hanging loose, very sloopy steering, couldn't get passenger door open from outside, missing weather stripping, engine leaking oil (valve cover and timing cover) and fuel around pump and injectors, ran rough at what seemed a higher than normal idle, clutch was grabby like it had oil on it, coolant was changed but still had indications of rust, turn signals didn't cancel, hazards didn't work, light rust on frame, California plates and missing everything to change a flat tire (jack, handle, spare, wrench).

Oh - It did start right up and run fairly strong and it stopped okay (thank God).

I guess it's up for grabs if anyone wants it.

Hey - Find some more for me to go look at - This is fun
