Who makes this Western Hauler bed?

egt question

Columbia, MO

here in good ol' Columbia, MO (land of the Tigers) #2 is 3. 04 and unleaded is 2. 55. This really erks me off. I mean why? Does it have something to do with over seas??? I'm getting frustrated, along with everyone else.

Found a place in LB, CA at 3. 19 for #2. It is a PAaramount and Artesia.

This was yesterday. Call them at 562-728-0012

How the heck can diesel be 30 c cheaper in St. Louis than it is in either KC or Columbia. BTW - go Tigers,

I left this morning and unleaded had dropped 2. 40. 9, diesel was 3. 09, but I saw it at another station for 3. 06, still that is 66 cents, that is ridiculous!

diesel higher than gasolene

Several months ago there were trucks parked beside the road

all over China because there was no diesel for them. They went

out and bought up and contracted all that they could for any

price that they could get it for to keep their economy going, mainly

hedging the market in Venzuela. This of course pleased Mr. Chavez

since he hates us about as much as he loves Castro. Identically,

the same thing has happened in India where their economy is also

booming. Between the two of them, they have made diesel a scarce

commodity, therefore don't look for diesel to come down in value

when compared to gasolene. Our only salvation is to convert our

oil powered generating plants to coal and hopefully someone

will try to build nuclear power plants like China is planning to do,

relieving us of so much oil consumption.

PS #2 is still 3. 04 around here. I think i'm gonna park my truck and ride the bus.

Thier excuse is that we are still down on refining capacity after the hurricanes, and the only reason gas is not as high is the EU is sending us some of thier gasoline reserves. I certainly don't agree - I think the war has as much to do with it as anything - Almost all of our war machines- tanks, Humvees, & even the jet fuel the navy uses is very similar to diesel fuel. I am not saying the war is good or bad, just saying I believe that is why the price is high. P.

Bend over and grab you ankles and get use to it, I personally don’t think that it is going to get any better, at least in the near future. We are going to continue to get ******

1. In order to reduce the logistics problem the military has for years been converting to one fuel. i. e. DIESEL

2. About 5-6 years ago the US Navy did away with the “old boiler tender” and it’s associated ratings. Today, if you aren’t on a Nuclear powered Aircraft Carrier or a Nuclear powered Submarine you are on a Diesel or Turbine powered ship. I. E. Diesel/JP4 etc. fueled ship.

3. The Merchant fleet is converting to Diesel power. (different grade though) Check out- Worlds largest Diesel Engine- http://www.bath.ac.uk/~ccsshb/12cyl/

4. We have a war in Iraq to support, That means increased Diesel/JP4 etc usage.

5. Then there are the developing countries. China etc. Check out item #3 above, look at all the imported items that are in Wal Mart etc. You can’t find very much manufactured in the good old USA today! Those consumer items have to get across the “pond” someway.

6. The oil refineries are constantly saying that they are running at maximum capacity and can’t increase production. Look at it this way- Why would they want to increase production? If they did, there would be greater availability of fuel and the price/gal would go down. E. I. Building more refineries would cost them money to make less profit!

It looks like we are in the old situation of hitting our heads against a brick wall because it feels so good when we stop!

Just my 2 cents, what are your comments/thoughts?

May you have fair wind and following seas

Converting? I was under the impression that the merchant fleet has always used diesel power almost exclusively (since the end of reciprocating steam power).

WOW!!! We are still paying any where between 3. 15-$3. 29 per gallon here in south eastern Indiana still as well. The regular gas is only 2. 57/gal. !@!! Premium is only $2. 77!@!! So we are payin up to . 60 cents more than premium!!! Talk about being gouged. :( Sad that we are having to call $2. 57 a bargain I still say.

#2 has been around $3. 23 for a while. The B100 I am running is about $2. 82 and will go down about 0. 40 cents next week from what I was told. Would be nice to fill up for about $2. 34-2. 40.

I wonder if prices will come down after the folks who heat with fuel oil get their tanks filled up for the 1st wave of winter. I assume that this is the time of year that they stock up.

Another reason is the number of LARGE diesel generators being used all up and down the gulf coast to operate things like hospitals and communication towers. I know of a few that are using over 1500 gallons of fuel in one day.

The difference was 85 cents over the weekend. That is just horrible. On the good side, unleaded dropped to the lowest (2. 29) that I remember seeing it in about a year.
